You are here:
Isaiah 49:16
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
With Christmas just ahead of me and the teachings of the Institute of Basic Life Principles behind me, one reoccurring thought whirling around in my head lately comes straight from the book of Isaiah: I’ve been engraved in the hands of Christ. How precious is that?!
Happy December to you, my friends of Recovering Grace!

Donna, It is not only precious, but true!
I've been thinking a lot lately about the freedoms we have on account of Christ. Many of us are still struggling with our past of Gothard's legalism. I was reading today in Galatians about Hagar and Sarah and how Hagar represents the slave woman and Sarah the free woman. The "free" woman. Aw! I love that!
Galatians 4:30 says to: "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son." Verse 31 says: "we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman."
Then probably one of my most favorite verses now comes next in Galatians 5:1. It says: "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. It is my prayer that thousands would find the freedom in Christ that so many of us here on Recovering Grace have found.
Galatians, Thank God for Galatians. When we were going through great struggles with legalism, specifically the "head-covering", we read a sermon by Spurgeon on Hagar and Sarah, the bond woman,and the free woman that turned the tide of my thinking and brought me closer to the liberty found in Christ.
Thank you, Tammy. I love what you have shared: Galatians 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Beautiful.
That's such a lovely reminder... I often feel off of God's radar, like I've taken one too many "wrong" steps off the correct path and am now lost out in outer darkness or something. But to know, really know that I'm on his hands.... lovely. Thank you for sharing!
