In our article yesterday, Recovering Grace called for today—March 6—to be a corporate Day of Prayer. We are asking our readers, friends, and current family of IBLP/ATI to spend time praying on behalf of Bill Gothard, IBLP, Recovering Grace, and all involved in these difficult events.
We encourage everyone to pray, regardless of where your heart falls on these issues and regardless of how much or how little time you have to dedicate to prayer. Some may want to spend a longer season in prayer, while others may just want to lift up short prayers throughout their day as they think of it. There is no prayer too small for God to hear.
Besides private prayer, there are three other ways we encourage you to participate today:
Twitter
If you are a Twitter fan, please follow us on Twitter @RecoverGrace [#RGDayOfPrayer] as we send alerts every thirty minutes with specific items for prayer. This could be a good opportunity to lift up short prayers more frequently throughout the day, especially if you sign up for the alerts.
Facebook
We will also be updating our Facebook page throughout the day with similar prayer requests. Feel free to visit our page and leave both prayers and prayer requests under our “Day of Prayer” thread. We also encourage you to share this Day of Prayer with friends on your Facebook wall, encouraging others to join us in prayer.
Recovering Grace Website
We encourage those who feel comfortable to leave a written prayer in the comment section below this article. Think of it as a place for “congregational prayers” to be raised before the Lord. Our moderators will not be approving regular comments or non-prayers in this thread.
Please keep in mind that our comment policy still applies to these written prayers: “Comments that are rude, dismissive, stir up strife, or personal attacks, or those comments serving to shut conversation down rather than contribute constructively, will not be tolerated.” While we understand that many of our readers are feeling strong emotions at this time, we encourage you to take strongly-worded imprecatory prayers directly to the Lord. Our moderators will try to keep this thread a safe place for all friends on both sides of this issue to participate in prayer together.
Current supporters of IBLP/ATI are welcome to participate in leaving written prayers on behalf of IBLP and Bill Gothard.
Thank you for praying today!
